VISALIA, Tulare County — October 24, 2026. The City of Visalia has opened its Youth Non-Profit Grant Program for organizations serving local children and teenagers. According to the city’s October 16 announcement, a total of $75,000 is available, with individual grants ranging from $1,000 to $6,500.

Who the funding is intended to serve

The municipal program is designed for nonprofit agencies providing programs or services to Visalia youth younger than 18. The city’s description allows projects serving existing programs, new activities or scholarship programs. That does not make it a general-purpose grant for every business or a direct cash payment that parents may claim on behalf of a child.

Application deadline and what has already passed

The stated submission deadline is Monday, November 16, 2026, at noon. City staff also advertised application workshops for October 20 at 5 p.m. and October 21 at noon; both workshops have already occurred. The official notice specifies that attendance was voluntary, so applicants who missed a workshop should not assume that they have lost eligibility solely for that reason.

How to obtain the forms

Organizations can consult the city’s original announcement or its Youth Grants page. The City of Visalia also offers forms through City Hall West at 707 W. Acequia Avenue. The city’s contact for the program is Ruth Peña, Finance Division, 559-713-4327.

What to check before a nonprofit spends money

Applicants should confirm the organization eligibility rules, allowable activities, financial records, required signatures, any matching-fund requirements and whether costs incurred before an award date qualify. A grant program’s maximum award is not a promise of funding; proposals are subject to municipal review and available appropriations.

Accountability after grants are awarded

Useful future reporting will examine the published list of recipients, the amount each organization actually receives, neighborhood distribution and how awardees measure services delivered to Visalia’s young people. Until award decisions are issued, California58 will not describe any individual organization as a confirmed recipient.
